Find a farm near you, ask for a pickup, and pay the farm when you get there. A free account, and nothing to pay online.

For buyers

Four steps, start to carton

  1. Find a farm near you

    Search by zip code and how far you'll drive. Farms with eggs today come first, then the rest by distance.

  2. Ask for a pickup

    On the farm's page, choose how many dozen of each kind, then sign in or make a free account and send it. The farm gets it by email, and so do you.

  3. The farm answers

    When the farm accepts, your request's page, under My requests, shows the pickup address and the day. If it can't fill it, it says so, and you can try another farm.

  4. Pay the farm in person

    Cash, or whatever the two of you agree on, when you pick up. We never take a payment and never add a fee.

No money moves through GetLocalEggs.com. Buyers never pay us anything, and we never take a cut of a sale.

Reading a listing

What a farm's page tells you

  • What's on today

    Farms post each morning: the kinds of eggs, how many dozen, and the price. "Nothing posted today" just means check back tomorrow.

  • A town, not an address

    Many farms are someone's home. You see the town and a rough spot on the map until the farm accepts your request.

  • Delivery, if they offer it

    Some farms deliver within a few miles, and say so on their page. Delivery is between you and the farm.

  • How the farm sells

    Each farm declares how it sells under its state's rules. Both statuses are shown with the same care.

Florida

Exempt seller

Sells under Florida's 30-dozen/week direct-to-consumer exemption.

Permitted farm

Holds a Limited Poultry & Egg Farm permit.

Exempt seller

Sells its own flock's eggs, ungraded, straight to buyers under Texas law.

On the farm's side

A few minutes each morning

  1. Set up once. The farm's name, town, a photo and the kinds of eggs it sells.
  2. Post each morning. One tap on "Same as yesterday", then mark anything sold out as it goes.
  3. Answer requests. Accept or decline from a phone. Accepting shares the pickup address with that buyer only.
  4. Keep the books. Accepted requests land in the farm's ledger, beside walk-up and market sales.
